Why our dry shampoo mist contains prebiotics
Most of you have probably heard of probiotics, the live microorganisms found in foods such as yoghurt, kimchi, and kefi – and, more recently, infused into skincare products – but have you heard of prebiotics? And why are they good for your hair/scalp?

A healthy scalp is the key to healthy hair. And at Glósóli Sport, we know that by truly improving the conditions of the scalp, your hair will reap the benefits.
Unfortunately, our modern lifestyles wreak havoc on scalps, with over 40% of people suffering with an unhealthy scalp due to heat styling, tap water, pollution, stress and diet. If you’ve ever felt that your hair gets greasy too quickly, or that your roots look lifeless and feel less than fresh, then your scalp could do with some much needed TLC. And zero-ing in on your scalp microbiome could be the answer.
Prebiotics promote the ideal conditions for microbes on the skin. So they are the perfect solution to maintain a balanced microflora on a normal scalp.
But what are they? Prebiotics are non-digestible plant-based carbohydrates that selectively promote the growth of healthy bacterial strains.
We believe using prebiotics to balance the bacteria on the scalp is important because healthy scalp skin will support nourished, productive hair follicles – leading to stronger, more resilient hair growth. This is exactly why we have decided to include prebiotics as an active ingredient in our dry shampoo, Ready Sweat, Glo.
When the hair is hydrated, it becomes flexible, shiny, smooth and looks healthier!
